Submission Guidelines
We encourage all students to enter one, or both of the competitions.
Writing Prize
The River Rat Writing Prize is open to any current Huron student. Each student may submit one (1) entry for consideration. Student work will be blind judged by a committee of cross-curricular department members of the Huron faculty. The winners will be notified by email and published on this website (as permitted by winners). Students are encouraged to submit classroom work. Submissions must be original student work.
Please follow these guidelines carefully to ensure your entry receives consideration:
-Entries must be less than 2500 words. Entries longer than 2500 words will not be considered.
-Entries must be submitted at or prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be considered.
-Only one entry submission allowed per student. All subsequent entries will be deleted.
-Entries must be from one writer only. No group submissions will be accepted.
-Entries should feature content acceptable for a school competition. Works that are racist, homophobic, xenophobic, or otherwise hateful will not be considered for the prize. Please keep your work tasteful.
-Entries MUST be created by the submitter of the work.

- Poetry [No more than 10 poems. Multiple poems submitted by one (1) student will be considered as one (1) entry.]
TO SUBMIT A WRITING PIECE
- Create or upload Google Doc in your AAPS Google account with your writing piece.
- Select "Share" in the upper right of your doc
- Under "Get Link", select "Change Link to Ann Arbor Public Schools" to update the sharing settings of your file
- Select "Copy link"
- Select "Done"
- To submit your piece, select the WRITING PRIZE image on the home page. Fill out the Google form, and paste your shareable link into the form.

TO SUBMIT A PHYSICAL ART PIECE:
- Take a photo of your piece (up to three photos may be submitted).
- Create a Google Doc in your AAPS Google account and insert your photo(s) into the doc.
- Select "Share" in the upper right of your doc
- Under "Get Link", select "Change Link to Ann Arbor Public Schools" to update the sharing settings of your file
- Select "Copy link"
- Select "Done"
- To submit your piece, select the MISCHIEF ARTS PRIZE image on the home page. Fill out the Google form, and paste your shareable link into the form.
TO SUBMIT A DIGITAL ART PIECE:
- Upload piece to YouTube in your AAPS Google account.
- Set visibility to "Unlisted".
- "Get shareable link".
- Select the MISCHIEF ARTS PRIZE image on the home page. Fill out the Google form, including your shareable link.
